We arrived in Edinburgh around 11 at night, although we didn't stay long as we had
to catch a bus into the highlands and the rest of the country early the next
morning. We would be back, though. But meanwhile, our first stop was Stirling and
the William Wallace Monument.

This is quite funny. Some old Scottish sculptor got really emotional
after seeing Braveheart, so he carved and donated this statue. The youths
of Scotland didn't take too well to it, and graphittied it every night. Soon, it
had to be locked up upon sunset. Quite ironic when you look at it... this
statue of Mel yelling "FREEDOM" put under lock and chain every day...

Not only was this monument "frick'in uuge", but it was also atop a
massive hill. So it was quite a walk to the top.

"They may take our lives...."
Yeah, Carl was in pure ecstasy here.

Here's what is widely belived to be Wallace's sword. It was quite cool...
it's as tall as Faith and the handle is wrapped in human skin.

Finally, we reached the top.

Looking out over Stirling, the site of Wallace's famous victory over the English.

Ach, tew!
