Next up was Glastonbury, the mythical burial place of King Arthur and
location of the mystic Isle of Avalon. That's it up the road there.
Past the McDonald's.

This massive hill is called the Tor of Glastonbury. Centuries ago it was likely
surrounded by water, hence it's connection to Avalon. Legend has it that
Joseph of Aramathea brought the Holy Grail here and buried it underneath the Tor.

Deep underneath is the source of the Red and White Springs
of Avalon, reputed to have issued forth when Joseph deposited
the Grail.

And then, as we all know, the Grail was finally found on two seperate occasions
First by John Cleese and subsequently by Harrison Ford.
(atop this monument was where the "Grail-shaped beacon" used to reside)

It was quite a hike to the top, but the view was well worth it.
(is that ever NOT true? maybe when hiking in Detroit...)

T'was a bit blustery up top.

King Arthur reportedly took a leak right here! I think there was a plaque somewhere...
.

Faith only now has started to wake up.

Space Monkey makes his first appearance on the Tor.
